Short biography

Andy Warhol, born in Pittsburgh in 1928 and died in New York in 1987, was a key figure in Pop Art and one of the most influential artists of the 20th century.

He turned everyday objects and stars of mass culture—such as Campbell's soup cans, Coca-Cola bottles, and Marilyn Monroe—into icons of art.

His work is characterized by serial repetitions, bold colors, and the use of industrial printing techniques such as screen printing, with which he deliberately blurred the boundaries between art and consumerism. Warhol presented himself as a brand and used his work to question modern celebrity culture, the superficiality of the media, and the value of originality.

His works continue to shape our understanding of art and pop culture to this day.
