Keith Haring, born in Reading, Pennsylvania, in 1958, was an American artist who gained worldwide fame with his distinctive, comic-like visual language.

His art emerged from the New York street art and club culture of the 1980s and is characterized by clear lines, bright colors, and recurring figures such as dancing people, dogs, and smiling babies.

Haring used his art as a medium for social messages and was openly committed to issues such as equality, peace, and the fight against AIDS.

Despite his early death in 1990, his work remains a symbol of joie de vivre, movement, and social engagement to this day.
